FAWM 2021 #2: Two-Step Program

A little honky-tonkin' never hurt anything.

Lyrics

I'll be the first to admit.... I have a problem.
Can't seem to forget ... that you and I are through.
But I'm doing my bit ... struggling to recover
The pieces of my heart, and start anew.

I'm working my way through a two-step program.
Each and every day I'm rebuilding my heart.
I wish that I could say I was making progress,
But my feet can't find the rhythm, without you in my arms.

Since you said goodbye... I catch myself backsliding.
Wishing I could fly back... to when our love was new.
Trying not to cry... in front of friends and strangers.
But still my tears.. keep rolling down.

I'm working my way through a two-step program.
Each and every day I'm rebuilding my heart.
I wish that I could say I was making progress,
But my feet can't find the rhythm, without you in my arms.

Step one... find a willing partner,
Twirl her round the floor, until our heads are aspin.
Step two... now that's the one I can't remember:
I'll apologize, and wipe my eyes, and start over again.

I'm working my way through a two-step program.
Each and every day I'm rebuilding my heart.
I wish that I could say I was making progress,
But my feet can't find the rhythm, without you in my arms.

No my feet can't find the rhythm, without you in my arms.
