FAWM 2025 #9: Wanderlust
This is one of those ear-greedy bits: I'm putting it down after getting the chords worked out, as there doesn't seem (yet) to be anything lyrical.

This tune came to me today while I was (what else?) shoveling snow. I think lyrics might accumulate later, but I wanted to get it cleared away before my back stiffens up. ;)
Not gonna get a vocal melody done inside the skirmish hour, so the demo is just the acoustic guitar.
Instrumental #jazz sketch, inspired by the view of early-morning mist rising from the river across the street.
This piano piece is another "argumentative" one: it wouldn't let me work on anything else, so I've recorded it in order to get past it.
I thought this was going somewhere else, but it turned into a fiddle tune: who am I to argue?
Inspired by watching a young pair of cardinals do their mating dance in our snowy driveway.
A quick instrumental take on footsteps on snow.
Written for the "Finishing Something" prompt, there is a lyric for this creeping around the edges of my brain, but too shy to show itself just yet. Maybe recording this as an instrument and pushing it out will tempt the poor wee thing to come out from the shadows.
I've made two different stabs at lyrics for this tune, each less successful than the other. I like the theme for the second one (Skinner box, rat-in-a-maze), so maybe I'll come back to it after FAWM.
