FAWM 2018 #13: Suddenly Sad
There is something about slow, sad waltzes that strikes deep for me.
I wanted to set my hand to one this year.
I likely have it in the wrong key for my voice, but don't have enough
February left to re-record, so I'm going with it as is.
Lyrics
I'm suddenly sad, muddled and mad,
Befuddled and in a bad mood.
Wish I knew where to turn,
As I watch this bridge burn.
I'm suddenly sad over you.
Once our lives fit together so well.
How did we get to this point?
We talk only of the weather.
Our time is now out of joint.
REPEAT CHORUS
Memories running to wistful,
Better times, so long ago.
Trying to fix it seems wishful, at best:
Now that we've let so much go.
REPEAT CHORUS
I don't know what's come between us.
We used to hold on so tight.
Saying goodbye would be cleanest,
But I can't get the words out tonight.
REPEAT CHORUS
