FAWM 2019 #3: Wonderful Misery
While rushing around getting equipment ready for this year's FAWM, I somehow neglected to secure a monocle. Nevertheless, I've soldiered on.
Lyrics
There's a certain kind of hurtin' when you're certain' she's been flirtin'
With a fella you've been tellin' her is wrong.
You can't shake the dreadful feeling that she'll set your heart a'reeling
And then leave you hurt and grieving when she's gone.
Chorus:
But Oh, ... what a wonderful misery!
If o....nly you'd known how she'd
Turn...out...to be!
Oh, ... what a puzzle love seems to be:
Agony and ecstasy, entwined.
For the dozenth time you're waiting all alone and now you're hating
Every Romeo and Juliet you see.
For she doesn't know you'd give her anything if she'd deliver
Just a single smile to brighten up your day.
When you're randy and you're jealous of the dandies and the fellas
As they circle her like bees around a hive.
The sting of tears, the thing you fear the most would come to pass at last
arrives; "At least," you say, "you've been alive."
